What Jobscan is, and who it is actually for
Jobscan is a single-purpose tool: paste a resume and a job description, get an ATS match score, a keyword gap list, and formatting checks. It has been doing this since 2014 and its keyword-synonym matching is the most established in the category, catching variations a simpler matcher misses, recognizing "led a team" as a match for "team leadership," for instance.
It is for people whose resume is the bottleneck and who know it. If you are getting rejected before a human reads anything, and you already track applications somewhere else, a dedicated tool built around exactly that problem for over a decade is a reasonable place to spend money.
What it is not: a tracker, a prep tool, or anything that helps after the scan. That is the boundary, and it is where most people looking for an alternative are standing.
Why people look for a Jobscan alternative

The partial free result. On the free tier the full keyword report, the soft skills analysis, and the formatting check are locked behind a paid plan, so the free scan tells you a score without telling you what to fix.
The price of unlimited. $49.95 a month, or $89.95 billed quarterly, about $29.98 a month effective. That is a real number for someone between jobs, and it is the most common reason to go looking.
Scope. It scans resumes. It does not track your applications, remind you to follow up, or prep you for the interview the resume gets you, so it is one line item in a job search that has several.
